WEDNESDAY EVENINGS, 7:00-8:30 p.m.
February 24; March 3, 10, 17, 24
Confessing our sins is a crucial part of the Christian life. It's not about beating ourselves up. We know we aren't perfect, and sometimes we do horrible things. And while Episcopalians typically confess our sins corporately during Sunday worship, private confession carries the additional benefit of a first-person exchange. The clergy person who hears a confession and takes counsel with you about it is bound to confidentiality for life.
Come learn about the history and value of the confession of sins in Christianity, both in Scripture and in the Church. We'll look together at the two Rites of Reconciliation in The Book of Common Prayer. You may even wish to make an appointment for your own private confession in advance of Easter.
This class will be held on Zoom. For the sake of security, we cannot publish our Zoom links publicly; you can get the appropriate information by signing up for Good Shepherd emails here.
Each class will contain a lecture portion that is shared online, followed by a private discussion time that is not recorded or broadcast.
