Over the course of four weeks, we'll read Matthew's account of the life of Jesus. We'll explore such questions as:
- Who is Jesus, and what is the nature of his presence and his role?
- What does the author understand to be the relationship between Judaism and Christianity?
- What are the elements of comfort and challenge in this gospel?
- What does this gospel have to say to the Church in our own day?
Participants are expected to read the first seven chapters of Matthew's gospel before the first class and to read seven chapters in preparation for each subsequent week. Each week, we will conclude together with Compline, the bedtime prayers of the Church.
This class will take place on Zoom. To access the appropriate link, subscribe to Good Shepherd's email list.
