Good Shepherd is beginning a Book Group. We will be reading and discussing Ta-Nehisi Coates’ Between the World and Me. This book is Coates writing for his 15-year-old son. First he shows how he learned about Black history and thought and how he discovered his place in the world. Then he wrote about the Black experience in the US. He talked about the fear so prevalent in Blacks living in a predominantly white society. There is much more to be learned from this book. Come join us in our discussion.
Ta-Nehisi Coates is an American author and journalist. Many know him from his time as national correspondent at The Atlantic where he wrote about cultural, and social and political issues, especially, those relating to African Americans and white supremacy.
Group will meet via Zoom
Contact Billie Stockton at firstname.lastname@example.org or 859-583-3530 to register or learn more. Since the number participants will be limited, please register soon.
Books are expected to arrive at Good Shepherd on July 1. Book delivery will be arranged by Billie so you have time to begin reading before the first meeting.
