The Diocese of Olympia's Refugee Resettlement Office frequently forwards us requests for help with the needs refugee individuals and families in our area. Jennifer Brown at the RRO sends us these; contact her for more information about any of these opportunities.

The RRO is always looking for diaper donations (sizes newborn to toddler). Contact Jennifer Brown at the link above for information.

(11/4) "I'm trying to source a baby stroller for an Afghan family with a baby who is about 4 months old. Gently used is OK. If you have one, please reach out to me."

(10/28) "We have an Afghan couple who speak Pashto and needs in-person ESL tutoring. Both are beginner-level English learners. They live at Copper Gate Apartments in Auburn and would need a schedule for the morning or early afternoon."

(10/28) "The Refugee Resettlement Office is hosting a Benefit Concert and we'd love to see you there. It's at the Auburn Community Event and Rec Center. There will be Ukrainian music, a silent auction, Ukrainian desserts, arts and crafts, and more. Click this link to purchase tickets. Pay-what-you-can option is here."

(10/19) "We have a high school student who needs tutoring in Math and Biology. He is in 10th grade at Kent Meridian High School. Tutoring can be done over Zoom or in person. Let me know if you are interested."

(10/19) "We have a refugee in need of temporary housing (6 to 8 months). She currently lives in Kent on her own but is unable to meet the rent of $1550, not including utilities. She makes $14 an hour. She has been getting some rental assistance from REWA but that is coming to an end soon. She hopes to find temporary housing where she can save her money and look for a better paying job so she can get a small one bedroom or studio that she can afford. If you're interested, please reach out to me."   "The RRO is always looking for diaper donations, sizes newborn to toddler.  Contact Jennifer Brown if you'd like to contribute."
